Of Dutch decent, "Nick" comes from an artistic family. While growing up in a small town, music was a large part of daily life. During his teens, a great musical partnership was developed with friends Dany and Claude which led to the formation of the band DuBay.
Nicholas studied the Hawaiian guitar in his pre teens and then managed to get his Uncle Nick's acoustic guitar which was a more cool instrument to play. The neck of this guitar was quite warped but it had to do. He found out later that electric guitars were much easier to play so he purchased a used one. This lead to various bands throughout the years which helped him to learn different styles.
